Q: I just need a little help with selecting the right fabric to coordinate with my room, can you help me?

A: We sure can!  Staci {the owner of Switch Studio} has a background in decorating and design, and is always happy to help.  You can make an appointment to come in with photos and swatches from your home for a little advice. Q: I need more than just a little bit of help decorating my space.  I need help with bits and pieces throughout my whole home {drapery, throw pillows, upholstery, side tables, lamps, a rug…}, I don’t know how to pull it all together using what I already have – Can you help me?

A:  You bet we can – No job is too big or too small!  Visit our DESIGN SERVICES page to find out more information and request a quote based on whatever you need for your home, because everyone is different.  It’s really easy {and fun}, we promise!  

 

Q: I have an item I need reupholstered, what is the process of working with Switch Studio?

A:  First, we recommend you visit the REQUEST A QUOTE page on our site to… yep you guessed it… request a quote.  If you’re happy with the starting labour price, then set up an appointment to come in to select your fabric {and don’t worry, we help you select the right fabric for your space and lifestyle}.  We kindly ask for a 50% deposit, once we receive that we’ll order your fabric.  As soon as it’s in, we’ll let you know, and you can bring in your furniture.  We’ll reupholster your piece, make it gorgeous for you, and then you’re free to come back in and pick it up.  Oh, and of course the final payment is due then.  Easy, right?

 

Q: Do you ever host workshops, seminars or informative presentations?

A:  We do on occasion, and they are so much fun!  The easiest way to stay up to date, and know when we’re hosting another, is to signup to our newsletter {at the top left or bottom middle of this page} and follow along on social media {click the icons at the top right or bottom middle of this page}.  

 

Q: I need custom window treatments made, what measurements do you need to provide me with a quote?

A: Please visit our REQUEST A QUOTE page and fillout the info. From there we’ll send you a downloadable PDF sheets for how to measure for drapery, and how to measure for a roman shade.  Simply print as many sheets as you need {one per window}, fill in the dimensions, and send them to us along with photos of your windows for a quote.  Happy measuring! 

 

Q: I see a chair on your website that I love, can you make me one similar?

A: Yes we can!  We can help you to recreate a similar look using just fabrics, or we can make you a custom chair to look similar to the one you saw and loved.  Just visit ourREQUEST A QUOTE page on our site to request pricing.  Be sure to attach a photo of the chair you like and let us know what you liked about it so we can help get you the proper info and pricing.

 

Q: Can I purchase fabric from you for my own DIY projects at home?

A:  You certainly can!  If you are local you can make an appointment to come in and view our fabric selection in person.  If you are not local and know what fabric you want, you can send us an email and we’ll send pricing and a sample to your home, anywhere in Canada or the USA.  We also have a small collection of fabrics available for purchase directly from our website – Vistit OUR SHOP HERE, and happy shopping!

 

Q: What is your turnaround time for upholstery and sewing projects?

A: It depends on when we get everything in.  Fabric can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks to get in.  Of course, we also need your furniture and a 50% deposit to start the work as well.  Once we have the deposit, furniture {or if it’s a sewing project we don’t need the furniture}, and fabric in the shop, our turnaround is about 2-4 weeks, depending on how busy we are at the time.  Custom upholstered furniture usually takes about 8-10 weeks once we receive the deposit, again depending on how busy we are at the time.  Hope that helps!

 

Q: Can you upholster with leather?

A:  You bet we can!  Keep in mind that leather can be very expensive, and you cannot buy small quantities, you have to buy the whole hide.  Therefore, if you’re on a budget or have a small job to do, we recommend faux leather.  We carry high-end commercial grades, which are a great alternative that look just like leather and are just as durable, for a much lower price. 

 

Q: Do you pickup and deliver?

A:  No we don’t, but we have great delivery guys we can refer you to if needed, just ask!

 

Q: I’m from out of town, but love your work, can you still help me with my project?

A:  Of course we can help you – We’ve had clients from Ottawa, Vancouver, Texas, New York, Boston, Florida and Califonia!  Just keep in mind that shipping costs are additional, so please consider that.  If you’re okay with the extra shipping fees, then we’d be honoured to work with you wherever you live.  We also offer e-design services and have suppliers all over Canada and the USA, so if you’re curious about working with us to decorate your home, visit our DESIGN SERVICES page to find out more information and request a quote.
